The bulldozers have been busy on Babin Road.
A 66-acre site between Babin and La. 74 in Ascension Parish has been bladed clean of brush and trees, with the exception of three moss-draped live oaks along the property’s edge.
Once an overgrown thicket with the occasional dark trunk of a live oak standing out among the greenery’s depths, the site is now a naked plane of packed dirt and a few uprooted tree trunks, with sight lines to La. 74.
